First Class Travel

It is difficult to make any comparison between Economy class and first class travel, for they are so different. When you travel first class you experience unbelievable levels of comfort and luxury, both in flight and at your air terminals. So what does first class travel offer you that you don’t get with other passengers? Let’s start at your departure and arrival airports. You’ll get priority check-in, baggage handling and boarding, and on arrival you’re the first off the plane. There’ll be none of that queuing for ages awaiting check-in. Once you’ve checked in you’ll have access to a first class departure lounge, and that’s just what it is. Comfortable armchairs, showers, complimentary drinks and snacks and even a continental breakfast

Once you have boarded (ahead of everyone else) the luxury that comes with first class travel continues. The seats are wider, there’s lots more leg room and on a long flight most airlines are now offering fully reclining seats that turn into a bed and are electrically controlled. Your TV screen will be longer and there is usually a power point for your laptop. Once seated you’ll be offered a drink – before the aircraft has started the engines even.

There’s far more privacy and the menu is completely different from economy class. There is often a choice of several main courses, and you’ll get to use proper cutlery – not that terrible plastic stuff that is impossible to use efficiently. The actual amenities will naturally differ from one airline to another, as will the airport amenities. But first class travel is always just what it says – first class, and if you’ve never experienced it, you should try.
